In this short book, Baptist pastor Blake White provides a clear and concise introduction to what it means to be a Baptist. He outlines eight marks of Baptist identity, including a commitment to Scripture alone as our fi nal authority, regenerate church membership, believer’s baptism, elder-led congregationalism, and religious liberty. He suggests that a Baptist vision of life and ministry is the fullest application of the principles of the Protestant Reformation. White grounds much of his vision in the newness of the new covenant. The second half traces White’s own personal journey toward Baptistic convictions. While honest about Baptist shortcomings, he makes a persuasive case for the biblical roots of the movement.
