Courier Publishing is pleased to announce the publication of In Mountain Shadows (hardcover, 236 pages), a history of Washington Baptist Church in Greer.
The book was written by pastor Drew Hines to commemorate the church’s 200th anniversary in 2019. Hines has served as pastor of Washington Baptist for 18 years.
“Washington has a long, rich history and a great heritage of service to the Lord and our community,” Hines said.
“Are you interested in Washington Baptist Church’s long-lasting history and how our church has victoriously waved the banner of Christ these 200 years? How did we come to be? Where were we first located? Who was our first pastor? What have been the major milestones in our many enduring years of serving our Lord here at Washington? What are our precious memories? These questions and others will be answered as you begin to read in this book the journey of Washington Baptist over the past two centuries.
“We want you to learn about the journey taken by our church over these 200 years to become the church it is today. These are some amazing and powerful stories of pastors, laymen and laywomen who served tirelessly and boldly in our earlier years to establish the foundation of faith on which this church has continued in His service.
“As much as we celebrate our rich heritage, we also look forward with joyful anticipation to what the Lord is going to do in the days, years and decades ahead. We are a church that is excited about all the open doors the Lord continues to lead us through.”
In Mountain Shadows is priced at $20 and can be purchased directly from the church by calling 864-895-1510 or by visiting BarnesandNoble.com or Amazon.com.
“Courier Publishing exists as an arm of the Baptist Courier to put biblically sound books in the hands of pastors and churches to equip them to be faithful stewards of the gospel and the inspired, inerrant, Word of God for this generation and those to come.”
